Limetree 2&3 Rose Petals & Parasols

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

As I mentioned previously, often times it seems like things do come in threes; like weddings at Limetree Beach.  Soon after Lindsy & John’s wedding, which I already posted, I returned to Limetree for April & Marco’s wedding.   A couple weeks later, I was back for Jennifer & J.L.’s.  Both weddings were beautiful productions by Leslie Dawson & her crew at Perfect Weddings of St. Thomas.  The arches were draped in linen and the aisle’s were lined with rose pedals and conch shells.  April & Marco even had green parasols to accent their outdoor “cathedral”.  Of course, the weather was perfect and both couples look wonderfully in Love.

A couple weeks later I returned to Limetree for Jennifer & J.L.’s ceremony.  I was there for an additional hour which was great since they wanted to not feel rushed and Mom wanted couple shots of everyone who attended.

Love it!

Congratulations Jennifer & J.L.  I Love this image.  Jen caught J.L. by surprise in a spontaneous moment plus the sun hit the flowers perfectly to make them pop off the page.

Limetree Beach I

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Like many things that seem to come in 3′s, I had my 3rd wedding at Limetree Beach (aka Bluebeard’s Beach) yesterday.  So before I get into the post-production work, let me quickly share the first two.

Very Romantic

Lindsy and John had a beautiful late afternoon wedding on an almost empty Limetree Beach.   The sun was starting to drop and the lighting was perfect for wonderfully romantic photos.  They brought the romance .  I captured the images.  The perfect combination of love and artistry. It was little warm but a lot  more comfortable than their home state of Michigan this time of year, I’m sure.  Congratulations Lindsy & John.

Sailing Away II

Monday, April 4th, 2011

"Sailing..... Sailing Away...."

As in my last post, Angelita and David too, decided to incorporate sailing into their big day.  Their plans were a little different, however.  They came to St. Thomas via cruise ship and were only on island for the one day.  Since they brought a lot of family, their wedding coordinator, Michelle from Island Wedding Services, booked a Safari Bus to transport everyone to the Sapphire Marina where they boarded  the 65′ sloop “New Horizons” and sailed across Pillsbury Sound to Honeymoon Beach, St. John for the ceremony.  After the ceremony and a photo session, they all reboarded the boat for a fabulous lunch and a day of sailing the Caribbean Sea.

New Horizons is a great way to go.  It is a beautiful & comfortable sail boat that is easy to get around.  Angelita and David had a beautiful day with perfect wind to enjoy it all.  Everyone had a great time and we got some fantastic images that will forever remind them of their unique and special day.

Congratulations Angelita and David!  I can almost hear Celine Dion in the background.

Wayward Sailor & a Setting Sun

Sail away into a sunset and get married?  What a great idea.

In March, Aqueelah, on leave from the Air Force, returned home from Germany with her fiance Aaron to get married on St. John.  Her plan was to sail aboard the “Wayward Sailor”, a classic 30′ Islander Sloop, with Captain Phil (who has been chartering boats out of St. John for 21 years and their wedding officiant) from Cruz Bay to Henley Cay (pronounced “Key”) for a small intimate wedding.  Getting married on Henley Cay, barely bigger than a postage stamp, a few hundred yards off of Caneel Bay, was a wonderfully romantic and unique idea except for two things:  Grandmas.  Both Aqueelah’s Grandmas wanted to attend their granddaughter’s wedding and they were not up for sailing.

A quick change of plans and we did the ceremony on Hawksnest Beach followed by a sunset sail.  It turned out perfect and, of course, her Grandmas were very very happy.

Congratulations Aqueelah & Aaron!  All the Best to you Both and Thank You Both for your service to our country.  –Eric
